ABOUT

Akers Signs - Four Decades of Excellence

Akers Signs was founded in 1972 by Dick and Sue Akers and quickly developed a reputation as being for quality sign making and highly personalized service.

Dick Akers began hand-painting signs during his teen years, and mastered his trade as a member of the U.S. Army while stationed in Germany.

The Akers family lived in their shop when their business opened. Rick Akers, oldest son of Dick and Sue Akers, was born in 1969 and literally grew up in his parent's sign business. Rick started working at the company in 1982, and by 1997 he managed Akers Signs. Foreseeing changing trends in modern signage, he moved the company in the direction of electric signs. Rick Akers became the owner of Akers Signs in 2006.

"Our company has greatly expanded in our capacities and our range of services, but our common thread throughout the years is our ability to confidently guide customers through the sign making process—and most importantly, our customer's satisfaction with the end product. People, Products, Processes – These are attributes of Akers Signs that will never change." Rick Akers

TESTIMONIALS

"The whole team at Akers really went above and beyond to make THE perfect signs for my new store location. I really didn't know where to begin (didn't even have a design besides our logo) and they listened to what my ideas were and made them into reality. The sign had to meet 100 pages worth of requirements from the developer, and they worked through every detail with not only me, but the developers/landlords, and my contractors. All of this was out of my expertise and I placed complete trust in Akers with the project. I am THRILLED with how it turned out, and can't say enough good things about the whole experience. The whole team was timely in communicating (even when I wasn't!) and were transparent about quotes, proofs, and invoices. Thank you thank you! I know there will be more projects in the future."
